EyeTV Diversity IR receiver and Apple remotes

Hello.

According to https://www.iospirit.com/products/remotebuddy/hardware/#eyetvreceivers,
EyeTV Diversity IR receiver could work in conjunction with both white and aluminum Apple remotes.

On my configuration, a Macbook Air, the withe 6 buttons apple remote work fine but when i try to use
an aluminum 7 buttons Apple remote, it identified by remote Buddy as a 12 buttons state and the select
and play/pause buttons are not actives.

Before trying to use the aluminum remote, i quit and relaunch both EyeTV and Remote Buddy.

Hardware - Apple® Remote

After uninstalling/quitting Remote Buddy, my Mac® no longer reacts to the Apple® Remote. (FAQ015E0241)
To enable you to use all capabilities of the IR Receiver of your Mac®, Remote Buddy is using its own driver. In contrast, all other applications with integrated Apple® Remote support usually use the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.

As long as you're running Remote Buddy, Remote Buddy and its driver are responsible for turning the received button presses into actions. As soon as you quit Remote Buddy, this task is again handled by the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.

If other applications don't use the interface to the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem correctly, this can lead to the effect that nothing happens when you press a button on your Apple® Remote. For as long as you're running Remote Buddy, issues like this are covered by Remote Buddy and it's driver and are therefore not visible to you. However, as soon as you quit Remote Buddy, the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem is back in control and any issues caused in it by other applications become visible.

Therefore Remote Buddy is neither the cause of the issue nor is it responsible for it. Instead, the cause of the issue exists independently of Remote Buddy. It's located elsewhere and can also only be solved there.

Although our products can't cause any such issues, we're regularly contacted about such issues and asked for help. In order to make locating and fixing the cause of such issues as easy and efficient as possible, we've developed a free diagnostics tool: Remote Control Diagnostics. It can locate issues with a single click and will provide you with information about the issue as well as with instructions on how you can fix it.
After updating to OS X 10.6.2, my Apple® Remote is no longer available for selection in Remote Buddy. (FAQ015E0236)
Please update your copy of Remote Buddy to version 1.15 or later.

The hardware compatibility page at https://www.iospirit.com/products/remotebuddy/hardware/#eyetvreceivers has this to say about the matter:

"The Apple® Remote (Aluminium) can be used. With this receiver type, the seperate Select- and Play/Pause-buttons can't be mapped independantly, though."

The reason behind this is that the Aluminum Apple Remote sends a modifier code before the 7th button - and this modifier code is often not recognized correctly by EyeTV receivers. So, if you press the Play button on that remote, it would be seen as either the Play or Select button on a more or less random basis. Since this is the opposite of reliable remote control, the Play button on the Alu Apple Remote is always interpreted as Play button when using EyeTV receivers. That way, you know what action you trigger when you press that button.

This limitation applies only to EyeTV receivers. It does not apply for other, supported IR receivers where Remote Buddy handles the decoding of IR signals itself.

If i understand correctly, the play/pause or select button are link to the play button.
The problem is when i want to map the buttons in the preferences of Remote Buddy, I have
no play button. I have :

Up
Up (held)
Down
Down (held)
Left
Left (held)
Right
Right (held)
Select
Select (held)
Menu
Menu (held)

When I press the play/pause or select button, the actions linked to the select button
is not called. (The other buttons operate normaly, there held state is correctly mapped)
The other consequence is that in the menus i can't activate any choice with the play/pause or
select buttons.

I have made some test in the debug mode that you have indicate previously
this year when i was having a problem with the hold buttons functions.

To remind my actual problem is with the 7 buttons aluminum Apple remote
and a EyeTV receiver on a macbook air, the select and play/pause buttons
don't activate any actions or menu choice. The 6 buttons white Apple remote
works fine.

This is the console log data corresponding to the buttons of the aluminum 7 buttons apple remote :
