Remote Buddy 1.30.1 and Kodi 17
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Greetings,

I updated to Kodi 17 and the remote wasn't responding where it was working for Kodi 16.1.

I decided to quit remote buddy and restarted it and remote buddy told me that there was a new version 1.30.1. I upgraded to the new version and downloaded the new drivers. I am using El Capitan 10.11.6. I had to reboot the system.

When I rebooted the system, my remote isn't working with Kodi and in fact I can't seem to get anything to work with the remote like iTunes, mythtv, etc.

I noticed on the info that 1.30.1 was updated because of the imminent macOS Sierra which I don't have installed yet.

I was able to go into remote buddy and activate a behavior with my keyboard but I don't get any interaction with my remote.

I have a harmony remote and 10 virtual apple remotes that let me emulate various commands so it gets complicated for me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

sorry to hear that you've run into issues. I'll be happy to look into them.

Please run this command in Terminal.app:

ioreg -w0 -l >~/Desktop/ioreg_dump.txt

And then send the file ioreg_dump.txt (in your Desktop folder) to info@iospirit.com . This should help me get a better understanding of what may have gone wrong on your system.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz

P.S.: Considering that this could also be an issue upgrading the driver from a much older version, you may also try this:

1) Use Remote Buddy's setup Wizard to remove the driver (fully removes the driver from disk)
2) Reboot (fully removes the driver from memory)
3) Use Remote Buddy's setup Wizard to install the driver (performs a completely fresh install)

I'am facing the same issue:

Yesterday i've updates Kodi 16.1 to 17.0 (Final)

After that i can not remote control my Kodi with Remote Buddy. I did not not change anything in Remote Buddy. No updates no config changes.

I fear that remote buddy does not reconize Kodi any more. I can see all my configurations for Kodi in Remote Buddy but it does not work.

Controlling other applications like iTunes or the Remote Buddy onscreen menu are working fine.

My Remote Buddy Version is 1.27.3

Should i update? Or is the something else wrong?

- Mac Backup with timemaschine
- Update Remote Buddy to latest version (1.30.3 on OSX 10.8.5)
- Reboot

Works like a charme :-) Request closed.
