Intermittent behavior with EyeTV 3

I'm having trouble getting Remote Buddy to work with my setup - it's a bit complex, so I understand that the interactions are going to be a bit tricky.

Anyway, I'm trying to use it to control the latest version of EyeTV 3 through the IR blaster on a SlingBox, using the EyeTV Diversity's IR port. It works, but intermittently. I can't seem to find a way to get a consistent response. It will respond to a keypress on the virtual Apple Remote on the SlingBox client and then will stop working. The Ajax remote interface works just fine, but because of the nature of trying to use it with a SlingBox, the response on screen lags 7 to 15 seconds behind the keypress, making it difficult to use. The SlingBox software does special things to reduce the perceived latency when using its virtual remote.

I had this setup working perfectly with the first version of EyeTV 3 and a EyeTV Hybrid, so I do know it's possible - do you have any suggestions?

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand what you are trying to do
here and how you want your setup to interact.

Do you try using a part of SlingPlayer with Remote Buddy?

Or are you trying to control your SlingBox via EyeTV and EyeTV via
Remote Buddy?

(sidenote: I have never seen a SlingBox in action nor is it available
here in Germany, so I don't have any chance to get one, either - or
try something out with it, etc.)

I'm trying to control EyeTV that is in Glasgow with an Apple remote
on my Mac in Stockholm. The SlingBox has an IR blaster and the
SlingPlayer client software controls it remotely.

I seem to have solved the problem by unchecking the option "Force
context-sensitive EyeTV Behaviour background activation" in the EyeTV
Behaviour section of the Remote Buddy preferences.
